Young Engineers – North Vaughan Programs

Welcome to e² Young Engineers North Vaughan Ontario !

Where children are given an opportunity to LEARN while having FUN building with the world’s favorite building block – LEGO®! Our programs utilize an EDUTAINMENT (education + entertainment) approach, transforming the learning process into a game while introducing children to theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Summer Camps

Enrollments for our LEGO summer camps for 2018 are now open.

Young Engineers – Camps program is opening its doors to anyone who loves to experience, to experiment, but especially to enjoy Lego construction, an experiential and challenging learning, with games and scientific experiments that visualize natural phenomena and the forces acting around them. Each day, the children will participate in a variety of diverse and enriching activities classified in different subjects. Likewise, the children will enjoy an educational experience, build an electric motor Lego model by their own, a central activity including experiential experiments and creative work. Every day, the children will take a souvenir from that day’s work, which they will be able to share and show.

Big Builders

Knex program

This fun and unique program is for young kids in preschool, daycare and kindergarten (ages 4-6). The Big Builders program incorporates tactile, motor, and spatial skills while introducing science and engineering principles using K’nex® building blocks. These programs are conducted in small groups to ensure each Big Builder obtains the intended knowledge and experience.

Program Subjects Include

Physics Principles: Basic principles such as balance and buoyancy

Animal Kingdom: Various animals – domestic and wild

Biology: Natural pest control, pollination and symbiosis

The Universe: Space, Earth and the Solar System

Geometry: Characteristics of basic geometric shapes

Transportation and Traffic Safety: Understanding different types of vehicles including motorcycles, trucks, cars and boats

Bricks Challenge 

young engineers conveyerThe Bricks Challenge program introduces elementary school children (ages 6-12) to the basic principles of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). By integrating basic arithmetic learned in school with an intuitive active learning process, children grasp a better understanding of the fundamentals of physics and engineering concepts.

Average lesson duration: 75 minutes

Program Subjects Include 

Basic and complex mathematics: Instructors teach basic math, from addition and subtraction to exponents

Famous scientific and philosophical figures: Archimedes, Sir Isaac Newton, Einstein, and more

Powers and principles in physics: Centrifugal and centripetal forces, the power of inertia, potential energy, kinetic energy, action/reaction law, buoyancy, torque, fulcrum, load division, angular momentum, and more.

Galileo Technic

Young Engineers LEGO KitThe Galileo Technic program investigates mechanical systems from a real engineer’s point of view. The program focuses on finding solutions using teamwork in order to build complex machines. Children will explore the mechanical, mathematical and physical aspects of machinery and the logical process that goes into building them.

Ages 10-14

Average lesson duration: 75 minutes

Program Subjects Include

  • Basic and complex mathematics: instructors teach basic math, from addition and subtraction to exponents.
  • Powers and principles in physics: centrifugal and centripetal forces, the power of inertia, potential energy, kinetic energy, action and reaction law, buoyancy, torques, fulcrum, load division, angular momentum, and more. Archimedes, Sir Isaac Newton, Einstein, and more.

Statistical Overview

After extensive testing, it has been statistically proven that children participating in e² Young Engineers enrichment programs achieve high grades within all scientific subjects taught at school.

It has also been proven that elementary school students who join Young Engineers community obtain the mathematical knowledge required to succeed when tackling the more complex scientific curricula taught at middle and high schools.
